Things to See and Do In Northam

Northam is a medium sized regional town located approximately 100kms east of Perth. The Avon River runs through the town and hosts the annual white water boat race ‘The Avon Descent’ in August. The river is also the home of the White Swan and numerous other bird species.

For the history buffs the town was gazetted in 1836 and is second only to Fremantle for the number of heritage listed buildings in WA. This means that there are numerous heritage homes and buildings to see and visit.  For those into nature and fitness  there are several walk trails including the 1 km climb to the top of Mt Ommanney.

Northam is also the centre for hot air ballooning which operates from April to November each year and we offer our guests a discount when taking a balloon flight. This experience is unforgettable and your early morning start is more than rewarded by the views and the champagne breakfast.

There are also numerous pubs and restaurants, all offering good food.
